In version 6.5+ we added the ability to remotely shutdown current users of the software.
Why?
This is handy if you have users that leave terminals running or keen users that are actually using the software day and night and you never get a chance to do the bulk updates and other Exclusive Use functions.
How?
Just go into Utilities > File > Shut Down Users and then Confirm and 6 minutes later you are ready to go.
Users get a warning that system is being prepared for maintenance and given an opportunity to shut down… if they resist it’s curtains after 6 minutes regardless.
When?
Whenever you need to. Just fire up the function and current users will be shut down.
Can something go wrong?
Yes. The lock file could still be in place when you get started again… if you get a warning message, just load up LibCode Suite (menu system) and got into Help and Remove Lock if the system does not reset itself. Obviously if symptoms persist… see a LibCode Doctor.
